Tiling Forum for Wall Tiling and Floor Tiling. Professional Tilers Forum.
Hi,
I am about to tile two floors interconnected by a staircase which has two curved steps near the bottom where it sort of doglegs. The tiles ordered have a slight grain in them and my question is this: If I tile the top floor with the grain running one way e.g North to South and follow this layout down the stairs, when I get to the dogleg bit and down to the bottom then the grain will be running East to West at that point, what is the best way to lay the ground floor tiles e.g running East to West with the grain (thereby different to the top floor), or running North to South (thereby different to the bottom steps after they've curved round by 90 degrees)?
Will it look odd?
